General Purpose of Position
Provides Information Technology (IT) Services contract assistance for a Detroit-based client, and facilitates service provider performance by tracking, measuring and reporting for the client. Coordinates the operational monitoring of the service provider services and facilitates the resolution of disputes related to performance-related issues. Facilitates the service provider and business unit issue identification and management. Coordinates problem escalation and dispute resolution.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists in the preparation for negotiation of IT services contracts with service providers
- Manages disputes through formal dispute resolution channels and establishes such channels where necessary
- Coordinates involvement of client legal counsel, as required
- Develops and implements management processes to ensure the smooth initiation of new contracts
- Proactively manages and develops key service provider relationships
- Manages and escalates key service provider problems related to service provider account management or service provider project staff
- Assists in the preparation and review of responses to request for proposals
- Facilitates service provider performance related report card data collection and reporting as requested
- Tracks and reports on contract situations, liaising with financial team for financial reporting matters
- Develops and maintains a working knowledge of corporate level contract obligations (e.g., MSA) by acting as a coordination point for client
- Develops and implements contracting governance model and practices and procedures for contracting
Skills and Abilities
- Solid knowledge of contract management
- Strong analytical and benchmarking experience with service providers, particularly complex solution providers
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Education and/or Training
- Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science related degrees or equivalent experience
