An accomplished information technology (IT) professional with considerable international experience, Dr. Walker, Partner and, Managing Director, Energy, Utilities, Travel and Healthcare Services, advises clients on all aspects of their service alternatives. Nigel brings expertise and knowledge about service provider capabilities, the sourcing marketplace and sourcing options. In addition to leading the Energy, Healthcare and Pharmaceuticals sectors by overseeing service delivery and client relationship development, he also facilitates communications between TPI and service providers by building existing relationships, overseeing TPI’s service provider programs and directing the advisory leadership for TPI’s commendation and promotion processes.
Nigel’s knowledge derives from practical experience in consulting, project setup and establishing the go-forward strategy. Through being outsourced to EDS, he has gained personal experience on all sides of outsourcing transactions.
While at TPI, Nigel has been involved in or has had oversight of major sourcing transactions. He has supported TPI’s clients in more than 50 engagements, providing expertise in sourcing methodology, transactions and assessments, and has provided assistance to multiple clients in their strategic and project-oriented needs.
Prior to joining TPI, Nigel served as a Vice President of Business Development for the Energy business unit of EDS. He also worked as Director of North American Operations and was responsible for all of the EDS operational accounts for the Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals division. During his career at EDS, Nigel helped produce many proposals and studies for large-scale outsourcing opportunities, including projects with Solutia, DuPont, ICI, Cytec, Huntsman, Vista Chemicals, Sterling Chemicals, Exxon, Mobil, Westmoreland Coal, NYNEX and CHEMCENTRAL.
Nigel joined EDS in the United Kingdom by transitioning from Unilever in an outsourcing transaction. In that role, he developed and supported large project management systems for engineering contractors. He was also instrumental in defining and launching a large Trade Statistics Database service in conjunction with the European PetroChemical Association (EPCA) and several of the world’s largest oil and chemical companies. Nigel has held various positions as a systems engineer, systems analyst, account manager, engineering region consultant and product manager.
Nigel holds Bachelor of Science and Doctorate degrees in Chemistry; both from the University of Sheffield (England).
