An accomplished information technology (IT) and finance professional, Mr. Young, TPI Partner and Managing Director, Media, Telecommunications and Financial Services, advises TPI’s clients on aspects of their service alternatives. Tom has expertise in the use of technology to meet changing business needs and all aspects of accounting, financial analysis and IT outsourcing (ITO). His knowledge derives from practical experience in cost reduction, economic modeling and the implementation of policy initiatives across large diverse groups.
Prior to joining TPI, Tom worked as a Financial Director at AT&T Labs with responsibility for providing financial advice and leadership to the applications maintenance taskforce, ITO strategy development and offshore outsourcing initiatives. In AT&T Business Service Operations, he provided financial leadership for a US$11 billion ITO transaction that included applications development, applications maintenance and data center operations. Tom was responsible for all financial due diligence issues and also served as the lead negotiator for the Finance organization. In addition, he served as the Financial Director for the Business Chief Information Officer, Business Communications Services, Mergers and Acquisitions, Outsourcing and Business Planning and Financial Support Business Units. In this capacity, he provided financial analysis, strategy and negotiation leadership for outsourcing initiatives, and Internet and local service industry transactions. Tom also served as a Vice President and CFO of AT&T ImagiNation Network (INN), ultimately responsible for soliciting, selling and negotiating the sale of INN to America Online.
