Bernd Schaefer serves as a TPI Partner and Managing Director of Germany. Bringing experience with international organizations across the business process outsourcing (BPO) and information technology outsourcing (ITO) spectrum, Bernd offers significant benefits to TPI’s clients. His knowledge and expertise include strategy assessments, competitive transactions and transition activities; and he also has experience with business design and IT projects.
Bernd was the founder and chief operating officer of his own consulting company before joining TPI. There he provided IT and Sourcing Management advisory services and led projects in Applications Service providing multichannel business management for converging IT and telecommunications processes, customer relationship management (CRM) and e-business solutions. He was also involved in creating and managing BPO solutions for newly founded service providers.
As Managing Director of Service Design with Perot Systems in Germany, Bernd led outsourcing business development activities. His responsibilities included BPO, ITO and CRM, electronic commerce, business process re-engineering, and change management. He also led the development of the largest sourcing relationship between Perot Systems and a German telecommunications company. Prior to Perot Systems, Bernd worked at IBM, where he last served as Director and Regional Manager of Outsourcing, concentrating on the banking and insurance industry in Germany. The scope of his clients’ outsourcing relationships included complete SAP, User Help Desk, IT Infrastructure Operations, Human Resources and Facilities Management.
