Executive Leadership Keys to Service Management Success

At any time in the sourcing life cycle, the C-level executive has a critical role in setting the standards for managing services. Even in the midlife of a relationship, there can be the need to rethink and reset the structure, team and management approach to ensure that value and innovation are received.

The common theme here is “people and process” — the right people with the right skills combined with the right organization and governance structure. 1. Start governance strategy and planning well before the contract is signed
  2. Get the right people — early
  3. Manage the retained team's attitude
  4. Insist on and develop commercial acumen in the retained team
  5. Seek innovation in the services and the relationship

Even the Swiss have felt the need to call a referendum on whether to keep its labour markets open to all EU countries despite increasing internal unease over a possible tide of economic immigration from its neighbours.
