HROA to Spearhead Human Resources Outsourcing in Asia Pacific

The Human Resources Outsourcing Association (HROA), a non-profit association dedicated to promoting professionalism and best practices in human resources outsourcing, has launched a new chapter in Asia Pacific. In response to the growing interest in the region, HROA Asia Pacific aims to bring together the largest regional network of purchasers, providers and participants to facilitate the exchange of ideas and information to support the development and success of the developing HRO market.

Members of the Board of Directors, established in the first quarter of 2007, include TPI, the world’s largest sourcing advisory firm, Maersk China Ltd, Intel Technology Sdn Bhd, Caliber Point, Convergys Employee Care Singapore Pte Ltd, BT, ADP and Kelly Services Inc.

Sharon McEneff, Director of HROA Asia Pacific, commented “HROA Asia Pacific is the only professional membership association committed to promoting the advancement of human resources transformation in complex organisations. Our members want to have a role in shaping the direction, policies and professional standards of this young, but fast growing industry”.

Sharon McEneff continued “The HROA philosophy is to create a win-win situation for our members and for the development of the HR industry across Asia Pacific. We encourage our members to exchange ideas and information about HR outsourcing best practices as well as framing and managing successful outsourcing programmes. At the same time, members from service provision companies can explore opportunities for collaboration and alliances to help them deliver integrated end to end HRO solutions”.

Gerry Clark of TPI, and Chairman of HROA Asia Pacific, commented, “It is encouraging in our first year to have such strong participation from both global and local companies on our board of directors. This means that, as well as providing a forum for exchange of ideas, we can offer the HROA membership in the region access to extensive HRO experience and thought leadership. The Asia Pacific region seems set for rapid expansion in the uptake of HR outsourcing. This kind of cross industry collaboration should help us to avoid some of the early teething troubles experienced by some organisations, particularly in the United States”.

The HROA is well established in both the United States and Europe. It is already seen as the central authoritative source of HRO industry news, thought leadership, research reports, best practices, performance metrics, benchmarking and other information vital to successful HR projects.
