Sourcing Advisor Launches New Data on HR Outsouring Trends in Europe

  • HR Outsourcing revealed as major growing trend in Europe
  • Data reveals what is being outsourced, where and by whom

Global sourcing advisor TPI is releasing new detailed information on the market for HR outsourcing in Europe; it was revealed today. The new data provides impartial and detailed analysis of HR outsourcing which has never been available before in the region.

The data, launched at the 2007 HRO Europe conference in Brussels on 28 November, covers the take-up of HR outsourcing by European companies and organisations industry-wide, and a detailed analysis of the functions typically outsourced. The data also reveals metrics such as the typical number of HR staff affected, large deal trends, and a country-by-country breakdown of HR outsourcing activity.

The new data shows that HR outsourcing is a growing phenomenon and that Europe is a significant market in this space, as HR becomes one of the most popular areas for European companies to outsource. So far in 2007, HR outsourcing contracts in Europe have been worth €3.5 billion in terms of the total value of all contracts signed. In the Business Process Outsourcing space, HR outsourcing is second only to Financial Services Operations outsourcing, which is worth €3.9 billion in this year to date. Almost half of worldwide HR outsourcing contracts currently include European employees, and 90 per cent of these involve UK personnel.

Jeff Croyle, Partner at TPI, comments:
“Our new research reflects the fact that HR outsourcing is increasingly significant in the UK and Europe as a whole. Europe is gaining increasing importance in the global outsourcing picture, and we’re pleased to be able to shed new light on a particularly interesting aspect of the market which is really taking off in this region.”
