HROA to Publish First Ever Human Resources Outsourcing Industry Practices Created in Collaboration with TPI
- TPI’s Debora Card leads development of industry pricing methodology and service level agreement guidelines to advance transformation of HR industry
15 April 2008 – TPI, the largest sourcing data and advisory firm in the world and a unit of Information Services Group Inc. (ISG) (NASDAQ:III), a leader in the information-based services industry, announced today that its pioneering contributions to Human Resources Outsourcing (HRO) industry practices for pricing methodology and service level agreements (SLAs) will be published by the HROA, the leading independent voice of HR transformation and outsourcing, as part of an HROA Recommended Practice™. TPI’s contributions help the HROA address the need for greater industry standardization. The newly published practices provide a common and more effective platform for establishing, measuring and maintaining HRO relationships.
The HROA established a clear and transparent process for setting standards that includes a rigorous independent peer review process overseen by the HROA’s Standards & Practices Sub-Committee. Led by Debora Card, co-chair of the sub-committee and TPI’s director, Human Resources Advisory Services, the HROA guidelines incorporate the insight of key industry leaders, including seven major service providers, and are the first practices to be approved and published by the HROA. Other key contributors on the HROA sub-committee were co-chairs, Linda Merritt, Carrie Hotz, and Don Cimorelli. The service level agreements and pricing methodology outlined in the guidelines cover all commonly outsourced HR processes and are designed to educate potential buyers of HRO services by helping standardize and rationalize the requirements for HRO service providers. This common starting point will help improve the selection and contracting processes for HR outsourcing services overall.
"TPI, and Debora Card in particular, played a critical role in advancing the state and practice of HR transformation and outsourcing with the development of these first-of-their-kind industry practices,” said Richard Crespin, global executive director of the HROA. “Since Debora sits on the HROA Research & Standards Committee, she was able to intimately understand what would be successful for the industry at large. Our organization is particularly grateful for TPI’s contribution of this data for the good of the entire industry."
In order to become an HROA Recommended Practice™, TPI’s contributions, as further developed with other HROA committee members, were subjected to two months of peer review and public comment before being approved by the HROA’s Research & Standards Committee. The guidelines will be introduced at the HRO World 2008 Conference, being held April 16-17 in New York City, and will be published on HROA’s website (www.hroassociation.org) on April 15, 2008. These practices are intended to provide a foundation for addressing common issues in HR outsourcing, and these standards are not prescriptive or intended to be used in all situations. Customization may be appropriate in any given circumstance. The HROA actively invites and welcomes feedback and input about any HROA Recommended Practice™.
"The success of the HR outsourcing industry depends on our ability to find more efficient ways to deliver HR services and align the expectations and objectives of clients and service providers around key relationship constructs,” said Debora Card, director, Human Resources Advisory Services at TPI. “We targeted the foundational issues of service levels and pricing methodology in a true collaboration between buyers, service providers and industry advisors to establish necessary standards for HR transformation in the outsourcing industry."
